Pool Party Rescheduled

Well, as Pastor Dave put it this past Sunday, we loved you guys enough to reschedule the pool party to a time you have a far greater chance of not being electrocuted by the lightning. The awesome news is this Sunday it will be 85 and sunny according to the forecast, and you all now have another week to invite all of your friends to come. It's going to be a blast, we'll swim, play games and eat some great food. See you all there from 12-4 this Sunday (8/29) and don't forget to invite all your friends!

Faith to Grow On

The Journey Continues

What an amazing couple of days it has been.  God has been taking us on an adventure that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Over the last few days I have seen the hearts of these kids grow by leaps and bounds.  We have been set up at Grocery stores doing everything we can to raise money for the noble cause that is neverthirst.  What started off me trying to convince kids to engage people for donations turned in to a battle to see who's turn it was(yes parents I am talking about every single student including yours).

The obstacles have been tough but that has only shown me more of what I have seen in these kids and what God is continuing to do.  We have battled pouring rain, lightning and thunder and temperatures that approached 100 with no shade in sight.  We also had to deal with competing vendors setting up next to us but even then God used that for life giving converations.

We are just around the corner from the second half of this trip which is an amazing conference that is filled with great worship and God inspired teachings.  I can't wait to meet up with the rest of our staff soon as we lose ourselves in Him,  I am more excited though to see the heart these kids have for those in need.

Spread the word and stay tuned.

Let the Party Begin...

What an adventure God is putting us on.  Yesterday we finally reached Birmingham and after picking up two more staffers and stopping by our hotel room we headed to Church of the Highlands for the start of the Motion conference.

To say that I was blown away would be a huge understatement.  I already knew that church of the Highlands had built an amazing place but to actually see it was special.  Most of these kids likewise have never seen anything like it and it really set the tone for an amazing night.

Once we got past the the seemingly endless walking from the parking lot to the actual building(though some cheated and got a ride on a golf cart) we entered the building filled with thousands of teenagers just as pumped as we were for an awesome time.  It was like as soon we walked in the prescence of God just smacked us in the face.

The rest of the night didn't disappoint..  Kari Jobe and John Larson brought an amazing time of worship that gave me shivers.  After that and after randomly getting stung by a yellow jacket in my seat(yes that is right a bee landed on my neck and stung me in the church).  All the kids were expecting a great message from God through Matt Pitt and the goods were delivered.  By the end of the night we were all going after God as one.  I saw all our girls lifting there hands crying out(literally) for God to do a work in them.

We are just getting ready to leave for day 2 and God has a lot more in store.  Pray that God would continue to do a work in the lives of these kids.

Pictures and more to come soon.
